Course Description: This 16 hour course will focus on HVLA thrust manipulation techniques for the cervical, thoracic, rib, lumbar and pelvic regions. Joint stress testing, safety precautions and contraindications will be reviewed. Proper patient set up, joint localization and therapist body mechanics will be emphasized. Manual therapy experience localizing joint and soft tissue barriers is required.

provide the student with the tools to safely and effectively perform a bio-mechanical examination of the specific area of dysfunction. Students will be instructed in relevant functional anatomy and biomechanics and will gain skills in identifying signs and symptoms that require referral to other medical professionals. Treatment will include Muscle Energy Technique, neuromuscular re-education and prescriptive home exercises. High Velocity Low Amplitude Thrust Manipulation Techniques will be demonstrated but will not be practiced. These courses involves both lab and lecture.

Manual Therapy Foundations: Clinical Reasoning for Direct Access including Safety, Palpation and Tests
This 3 day course will focus on the spinal region as a way to enhance and improve palpation skills with clinical reasoning/decision making for the PT entering or solidifying their professional competence and direct access capabilities in an OMPT setting. Included are strategies for clarifying understanding of key functional anatomy and biomechanics related to screening for emergent issues/problems, urgent and otherwise. This course is designed to build confidence in developing reliable diagnostic methods. Current available literature and evidence for course material will be provided. Manual Therapy of the Lumbo-Pelvic Complex
This course provides the student with the tools and decision making processes to safely and effectively perform a biomechanical examination and develop a comprehensive treatment approach/plan for the patient with lumbar spine and pelvic girdle dysfunction. Students will be instructed in relevant functional anatomy and biomechanics and will gain skills in identifying signs and symptoms that require referral to other medical professionals. Treatment will be multifaceted, utilizing combined techniques with emphasis on Muscle Energy Technique and Neuromuscular re-education. This course involves lab, lecture and case based clinical reasoning.
Manual Therapy of the Cervico-Thoracic Complex
