Course Description:
This two day course will focus on HVLAT techniques for the spine, pelvic girdle and costal cage. Joint stress testing, safety precautions and contraindications will be reviewed. Proper patient set up, joint localization and therapist body mechanics will be emphasized. Manual therapy experience localizing joint and soft tissue barriers is required.
Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

    Describe indications, precautions and contraindications to HVLAT techniques.
    Demonstrate pre-manipulative screening tests for cervical instability and vertibro-basilar instabilities.
    Develop and inhance clinical reasoning behind determining when to utilize HVLAT techniques versus other tools.
    Demonstrate use of locking techniques above and below the dysfunction being treated and when to use one, both or neither.
    Learn how to accurately identify restrictions to be manipulated utilizing a HVLAT technique through a biomechanical examination.
    Demonstate safe and effective use of HVLAT techniques in the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine, costal cage and pelvic girdle.
